Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Environmental Manager to support a US government contract on Diego Garcia. The role focuses on implementing and monitoring environmental strategies, EMS goals, and sustainability requirements across the program.

You will supervise staff, develop SOPs, ensure regulatory compliance, conduct compliance self-assessments, and coordinate training and outreach while maintaining ties to the Installation's standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry or related field from a U.S. or U.K. accredited institution.
• 10+ years in government contract or military installation environmental work (hazardous waste, spill response).
• Experience supervising in austere OCONUS environments with multinational teams.
• Familiarity with EPA, DOT or related regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff and resources for environmental management.
• Develop SOPs to support environmental initiatives and customer directives.
• Oversee annual self-assessments for compliance.
• Ensure compliance with permits, standards, and regulations; monitor and report data.
