Job summary

JCB is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Technician to help develop, implement, and improve EHS programs across the facility in San Antonio, TX. You will work hands-on on the shop floor with production, maintenance, and contractors to identify hazards, reduce risk, and promote a proactive safety culture.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in environmental fields and at least three years of experience with regulatory compliance, audits, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, natural sciences, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing environmental compliance programs within industrial facilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance obligations.
• Strong communication, strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills for regulatory interfaces.
• Experience developing and maintaining environmental management systems, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Working knowledge of stormwater, hazardous materials, waste management, and aboveground storage tank regulations.
• Proficiency with electronic reporting systems and compliance tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility studies, environmental surveys, and monitoring programs.
• Investigate environmental incidents to identify hazards and reduce risks.
• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental policies and protection programs.
• Prepare environmental impact assessments, audits, and regulatory documentation.
• Design and deliver environmental training and awareness programs.
• Manage waste management programs and pollution prevention initiatives.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and internal partners.
• Lead environmental permitting, compliance, monitoring, and reporting activities.
• Develop and manage environmental risk assessment and mitigation programs.
• Monitor and report environmental performance metrics for continuous improvement.
• Provide strategic environmental leadership aligned with sustainability goals.
