Job summary

Sierra Club's Environmental Law Program is seeking a Legal Intern in Oakland, CA (with Washington, DC). This program offers Spring/Fall 14 weeks at 20 hours per week and Summer 10 weeks at 37.5 hours per week, providing a hands-on opportunity to help with litigation, legal research, and factual investigation under the supervision of program attorneys.

You will develop written memoranda, participate in weekly legal team meetings, and gain exposure to diverse litigation styles while advancing

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and factual investigation.
• Prepare written memoranda, public records requests, and draft other legal documents.
• Research prospects for new litigation, including factual and legal claims.
• Assist in the review of legal documents, instruments, and other material.
• Attend court appearances (depending on cases assigned).
• Work on discovery (depending on cases assigned).
