Job summary

SPL is hiring a Laboratory Technician in Conroe, TX, to support our environmental laboratory team. The role focuses on sample preparation, analytical testing, and accurate documentation within the LIMS, contributing to reliable results and compliance.

The position is full-time, onsite with a schedule of Tuesday-Friday, 11 AM-7 PM, and Saturday, 8 AM-5 PM. A bachelor’s degree in a scientific field and hands-on lab experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related scientific discipline is required.
• Previous hands-on professional laboratory experience is required; relevant academic research, internships, or coursework may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required; experience with LIMS systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic sample preparation and analytical testing in accordance with approved methods, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Perform data entry, documentation, and review of test results within LIMS and other designated systems.
• Support laboratory quality system by following GLP, assisting with audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to safety and compliance protocols to maintain a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
• Assist with general laboratory housekeeping, inventory management, and cross-training as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
