Job summary

SPL is seeking a Lab Technician II for its environmental laboratory team in Round Rock, TX. The role combines hands-on sample prep, analytical testing, data review, and instrument maintenance to deliver accurate, timely results in a collaborative, quality-focused setting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a scientific field and 2+ years of lab experience, with proficiency in LIMS and Microsoft Office, and familiarity with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on analytical lab experience, preferably in environmental testing.
• Experience with analytical instrumentation and data interpretation across multiple techniques.
• Familiarity with laboratory regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and LIMS.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation, analytical testing, and quality control in accordance with methods, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Review and interpret analytical data, perform calculations, and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, enter results in LIMS, and prepare reports.
• Collaborate with team to prioritize workloads and support cross-training.
• Contribute to audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
