Job summary

SPL is seeking an Analytical Chemist for our environmental laboratory in Round Rock, TX. You will work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting handling EPA-based analyses and instrumentation.

The role emphasizes hands-on use of ICP-MS, GC-MS, GC, HPLC, and IC, along with data review in LIMS and QA/QC oversight. On-site, full-time with comprehensive benefits awaits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Environmental Science.
  • 2+ years of professional analytical laboratory experience in a regulated environment.
  • Experience operating, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation (ICP-MS, GC-MS, GC, HPLC, IC).
  • Working knowledge of QA/QC, data review, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and LIMS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis on environmental and quality control samples per EPA methods and lab procedures.
  • Prepare, digest, and process samples using approved analytical methods, SOPs, and regulatory protocols.
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain analytical instrumentation.
  • Review, interpret, validate, and document analytical data within LIMS.
  • Perform QA/QC checks and identify instrument drift or sample anomalies for corrective action.
  • Support method development, transfer, verification, optimization, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Assist with CAPA investigations, SOP updates, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and meet turnaround times and productivity goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

We're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to join our environmental laboratory in Round Rock, TX.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven Chemist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment and is passionate about hands-on analytical instrumentation, complex problem-solving, and delivering high-quality data that directly supports environmental compliance, public safety, and critical regulatory decision-making.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform analysis on environmental and quality control samples in accordance with EPA methods and laboratory procedures

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and collaborate with team members to meet turnaround times and productivity goals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline
  • 2+ years of professional analytical laboratory experience in a regulated environment
  • Proven hands-on experience operating, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation, including ICP-MS, GC-MS, GC, HPLC, and IC
  • Demonstrated experience with analytical method development, optimization, validation, verification, and implementation
  • Working knowledge of laboratory quality systems, including QA/QC, data review, documentation, and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
