Job summary

Pace Analytical in Massachusetts is seeking a Scientist to join our environmental testing laboratory. You will conduct hands-on analysis and ensure the integrity of environmental data that impacts communities and ecosystems.

You’ll work with instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and more to analyze air, water and soil samples. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related STEM field and the ability to stand for long periods while using PPE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other STEM related degrees — or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. We are happy to provide training!
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Operate instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and other methods.
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples for environmental contaminants.
• Review and interpret results from sample analyses.
• Document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality laboratory records.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
