Job summary

Pace Labs is seeking a Scientist I to join our environmental testing laboratory in Altoona, PA. You will conduct hands-on analyses using GC, HPLC, ICP, and related methods to detect environmental contaminants in air, water, and soil samples.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or STEM and offers training plus full-time benefits. Expect routine work hours, PPE provided, and opportunities to grow within a mission-driven company focused on safety and environmental health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other STEM fields (or equivalent).
• Ability to work in a lab environment, stand for extended periods, and wear PPE provided by Pace.
• Training provided and development encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Operate instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP to analyze air, water, and soil samples.
• Review and interpret results from sample analyses.
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results for quality records.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
