Job summary

Onterris, Inc. in Orange, CA is seeking a Quality Assurance Associate I for our environmental laboratory. You will support QA activities, audits, CAPA tracking, and training to ensure data integrity and compliance with TNI ISO 17025.

The role requires a science degree (or equivalent) and 1+ year of lab/QA experience, plus strong communication, organization, and Office skills. This onsite position offers a Monday–Friday schedule and a pay range of $22–$27 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a scientific field or combination of education, training, and experience.
• 1+ years of relevant experience working in a laboratory or quality assurance role.
• Strong understanding of scientific terminology, analytical laboratory procedures, and lab safety.
• Understanding of physical and chemical principles underlying why procedures are specified the way they are for each method.
• Good written and verbal communication with editorial and proofreading abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with lab teams to gather, interpret, and document data.
• Good organization, time management, and communication skills and the ability to prioritize.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with TNI 2016, ISO 17025 standards, GDP, CAPA, or RCA is a plus.
• Experience with LIMS.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools for reports and graphs.
• Conflict resolution and clear communication.
• Problem-diagnosis and corrective-action mindset.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while staying composed.
• Team player who can work independently in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Track or verify laboratory supply equipment per SOP and manufacturer specs.
• Review logbooks, bench sheets, or data for GDP compliance.
• Initiate and address non-conformances for corrective actions.
• Collect and interpret quality control data, create control charts, and audit reports.
• Track CAPA and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Conduct routine internal audits of lab processes, documentation and facilities.
• Prepare audit checklists, reports, and follow-up on findings.
• Draft, review, and revise SOPs and related documents.
• Review PT data and results.
• Develop and deliver in-lab GDP, ethics, data integrity, safety, and technical training.
• Maintain training records and competency assessments.
• Archive documents per SOPs.
• Review lab data and procedures for accuracy and compliance with TNI 2016, ISO 17025 and client requirements.
• Support external audits.
• Communicate updates to applicable people promptly.
• Adhere to quality manuals, policies, and health/safety practices.
• Take on additional duties as needed.
