Job summary

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Laboratory Customer Service Specialist to join the Nebraska Public Health Environmental Laboratory on a full-time basis. You will respond to customer requests, assemble and ship sample collection kits, and handle sample custody and disposal with accuracy.

The position requires attention to detail, dependable work ethic, and the ability to organize multiple tasks while working independently.

Qualifications

• Experience in chemical, microbiological, or biological lab bench procedures.
• Post-high school coursework or training in laboratory bench techniques, biology, or life sciences.
• Valid Driver's License Required

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer requests and assemble and ship sample collection kits.
• Conduct minor preliminary testing procedures (pH, acidification of samples), sample custody, and sample disposal.
• Print sample requests, enter sample collection demographics, sort incoming samples, and deliver samples to appropriate work areas.
• Pickup and deliver mail.
