Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Lab/Facility Chemist to perform chemical analyses of hazardous and non-hazardous waste using EPA methods and SOPs. You will prepare samples, validate methods, and maintain documentation while supporting method development and quality control.

The role emphasizes analytical accuracy, data processing, and the ability to work under supervision, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across waste streams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of chemistry principles and practices including analysis and evaluation.
• Awareness of ISO and NELAC quality management standards.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications.
• Knowledge of RCRA, TSCA, and applicable state regulations (usually with <1 year of experience).
• Superior knowledge of software packages as they relate to waste streams and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Performs preparation techniques and instrumental analysis of environmental samples using EPA methods and SOPs/WIs.
• Prepares samples for equipment and performs instrument maintenance and data processing.
• Validates testing methods and maintains required documentation.
• Supports development of SOPs and WI under supervision of Laboratory Manager.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment and ensures quality control measures.
