Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is seeking a motivated student for a field-to-office internship in environmental services in West Palm Beach, FL. You will support environmental staff, participate in site assessments, sampling, and compliance tasks while pursuing your degree.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in Civil Engineering or Environmental Science, with strong communication and teamwork skills and a willingness to work both in the field and office environments.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• No years of experience required beyond ongoing studies.
• Valid driver's license required if driving for ECS.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work in both field and office environments.

Responsibilities

• Performs a combination of field and office work supporting environmental staff.
• Assists with environmental compliance activities (e.g., NPDES/spec compliance).
• Conducts environmental site assessments, soil, groundwater, and media sampling.
• Assists with remediation system design, installation, and O&M.
• Coordinates laboratory testing and attends project meetings.

• Performs a combination of field and office work supporting environmental staff
• Assists with environmental compliance activities (e.g., NPDES/spec compliance)
• Conducts:
  • Environmental site assessments
  • Soil, groundwater, and media sampling
  • Hydrogeologic studies
• Assists with:
  • Remediation system design, installation, and O&M
  • Underground storage tank (UST) assessments
  • Industrial hygiene evaluations
• Supports laboratory coordination and testing
• Attends project meetings and assists with issue resolution
• Assists with proposal preparation and documentation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 0 years of related experience
• Must be pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or other degree related to our services
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and organized work ethic
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision
• Working knowledge of geotechnical field investigation and testing methods
