Job summary

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is seeking a student or early-career professional to join our environmental team in the Town of Colonie, NY. The role combines field and office work supporting environmental staff in site assessments, sampling, and compliance activities.

You will gain hands-on exposure to geotechnical investigations, remediation system support, and coordination of lab testing, with opportunities to contribute to proposal preparation and project meetings.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field(s).
• Interest in geotechnical field investigations and environmental compliance.
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS subsidiary.
• Strong communication, dependable, detail-oriented, organized work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Performs a combination of field and office work supporting environmental staff.
• Assists with environmental compliance activities (e.g., NPDES/spec compliance).
• Conducts environmental site assessments, soil, groundwater, and media sampling.
• Assists with remediation system design, installation, and O&M.
• Underground storage tank (UST) assessments and industrial hygiene evaluations.
• Supports laboratory coordination and testing.
• Attends project meetings and assists with issue resolution.
• Assists with proposal preparation and documentation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Must be pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or other degree related to our services
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and organized work ethic
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision
• Working knowledge of geotechnical field investigation and testing methods
• Basic ability to interpret field data and observations

Military Qualifications

• The following US Military ranks would qualify for this position:
  • E-4

The expected pay range for this role and location is $18-$20/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
