Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. in Blacksburg, VA is seeking highly motivated Environmental Interns for a paid Summer 2027 internship. The program runs June through August 2027, with potential to transition to a full-time role after graduation.

Interns work under Project Managers and Team Leaders alongside engineers, scientists and technologists. Responsibilities include supporting regulatory tasks, data management, groundwater/soil sampling, field oversight, and engineering calculations as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Support regulatory requirements and document reviews.
• Data entry, management, evaluation and presentation.
• Field assistance with groundwater, soil sampling and related work.
• Field work oversight including soil excavation and remediation tasks.
• Provide engineering calculations and design assistance as needed.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.
