Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. seeks highly motivated Environmental Interns for Summer 2027 in our Richmond, VA office. This is a paid full-time internship running June through August 2027, with potential to transition into a full-time role after graduation.

You will work under Project Managers and Team Leaders alongside engineers, scientists, and technologists. Responsibilities include supporting regulatory tasks, data management and presentation, field sampling, soil excavation oversight, and engineering

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Self-motivated, detail oriented
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid drivers license

Responsibilities

• Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/review estimates, research, procurement support
• Perform data entry, data management, data evaluation, and data presentation
• Field assistance with groundwater sampling, soil sampling, soil vapor sampling, ecological risk assessments etc.
• Field work oversight such as soil excavation, remediation, due diligence inspections, etc.
• Perform engineering calculations and design assistance for government, commercial, and industrial properties as needed
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary
