Job summary

Heidelberg Materials offers an internship in Irving, TX for students in Environmental Science/Engineering or related fields. You will support environmental and sustainability initiatives across the Southwest Region’s aggregates, ready-mix, and stabilized sand operations.

Responsibilities include environmental monitoring, reporting, planning, and reclamation projects, plus site inspections and data collection related to air, water, and land resources.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in environmental-related field (junior or senior).
• Passion for environmental protection, sustainability and land use.
• Strong communication, written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and across departments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work in office and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental and sustainability initiatives across Southwest Region’s aggregates, ready-mix, and stabilized sand operations.
• Assist with environmental monitoring, sustainability reporting and planning, and reclamation projects.
• Support environmental engineers and land managers to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Participate in site inspections, audits, and data collection related to air, water, and land resources.
• Contribute to habitat restoration and community engagement.
• Learn about permitting, environmental reporting, and land stewardship practices.
• Promote compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
