Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is offering an environmental internship in the Southwest Region. The role focuses on supporting sustainability initiatives across aggregates, ready-mix, and land resources operations, while learning permitting, reporting, and land stewardship.

You will assist environmental engineers and land managers, participate in inspections and data collection, and contribute to habitat restoration and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Natural Resources, or a related field.
• Passion for environmental protection, sustainability, and responsible land use.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental monitoring, sustainability reporting and planning, and reclamation projects.
• Assist with regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local levels.
• Participate in site inspections, audits, and data collection on air, water, and land resources.
• Contribute to habitat restoration and community engagement.
• Learn about permitting processes and environmental reporting.
• Promote compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
