Job summary

Sierra Nevada Company, SNC, is seeking a Non-Technical Intern for our Sparks, NV office. This part-time internship provides hands-on experience in aerospace and defense environment with mentoring, cross-functional workshops, and real-world projects.

You will collect and analyze data, prepare reports, and help develop environmental programs. Ideal candidates are Environmental Science/Management students with analytical skills and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Policy, or related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Collaborative team worker with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in actual projects and contribute to team objectives by completing assigned tasks.
• Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced professionals.
• Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support business decisions.
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and reports as required.
• Attend planning meetings to understand project requirements and team goals.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support best practices.
• Participate in workshops to understand the business and company culture.
• Effectively communicate ideas, progress, and findings to team members and leadership.
• Help draft and update environmental programs and procedures.
• Assist in identifying regulatory non-compliance and documenting gaps.
• Support gap analyses of environmental programs and corrective actions.
• Develop environmental training materials and research regulations to support program improvements.
