Job summary

HDR is seeking an Environmental Intern to contribute on environmental compliance, natural resources, and permitting/planning projects across Washington State and the Pacific Northwest. You’ll gain real-world experience on exciting projects and engage with company leaders through mentoring programs.

The role supports an employee-owned culture, offers collaboration with a diverse team, and provides exposure to water, transportation, and power infrastructure initiatives in the region.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate environmental science, biology, environmental engineering or related program.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with software packages related to field.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Offer real-world experience on exciting projects.
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs.
  • Work on environmental compliance, natural resources, and permitting/planning projects for water, transportation, and power infrastructure in Washington State and the Pacific Northwest.

In the role of Environmental Intern, we'll count on you to:
  • Offer real-world experience on exciting projects

  • Work on a wide variety of environmental compliance, natural resources, and permitting/planning projects for a range of water, transportation, and power infrastructure projects in Washington State and the Pacific Northwest.
  • Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
  • Preference will be given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate environmental science, biology, environmental Engineering or related program
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
