Job summary

The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection’s Office of Financial Assistance (OFA) in Reno is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to assist drinking water, wastewater, and storm water systems in funding capital improvement projects.

The role includes reviewing and ranking projects, evaluating preliminary engineering reports, plans and specifications, and overseeing contracts and construction to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements; site visits are required.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
• Duties require independent judgment and ability to oversee projects from design through construction.
• Experience interpreting plans, specifications and contract documents for capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, schedule and oversee program activities coordinating with sections, divisions, and agencies.
• Prepare reports, letters, memos, and agreements ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Compile and present complex engineering information to management and in briefings.
• Attend public meetings and hearings providing technical expertise.
• Write, review, negotiate and manage agreements with consultants and contractors.
