Qualifications

• ABET/ACB accreditation not required; degree in physical or environmental sciences acceptable.
• Experience interpreting environmental health rules and conducting surveys preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication for reports and liaison work.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical expert within Residential Water and Sewage Program.
• Conduct surveys of local health district programs and prepare survey reports.
• Research and evaluate new water treatment technologies.
• Review and analyze complaints related to private water and sewage systems.
• Review contractors' registrations and enforce violations of relevant codes.
• Provide technical assistance and training to local health departments and others.
• Serve as liaison to state/federal agencies on joint studies and advisory committees.
• Prepare reports and analyses of technical nature for private water systems.
• Maintain and review field equipment related to sewage treatment systems.
