Southwest Utah Public Health Department seeks an Environmental Health Scientist in training to support reviews, inspections, and analyses ensuring compliance with state and federal health laws across food service, wastewater, pools, and related facilities.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in environmental health science or related fields, and progression toward full licensure within 1 year, with a Utah driver license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health science or related fields.
• Must become licensed Environmental Health Scientist in training within 60 days.
• Must become licensed Environmental Health Scientist by DOPL within 1 year of hire.
• Must become certified as an inspector as required by state regulations.

Responsabilités

• Reviews, inspects, and analyzes to ensure EH compliance across food service, wastewater, pools, and related facilities.
• Assesses environmental health risks and recommends appropriate remedies.
• Uses planning models to identify trends and forecast future needs and impact.
