Job summary

The role involves risk assessments, forecasting future needs, and applying planning models to anticipate impacts on community health. A bachelor’s degree in relevant fields is required or an equivalent combination with math coursework and hours in listed disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, biology, botany, chemistry, environmental health science, geology, microbiology, physics, physiology, sanitary engineering, or zoology.
• Or evidence of a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a math course and 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) from at least three of the listed curriculums.

Responsibilities

• Participates in reviews, inspections, and analyses to ensure compliance with environmental health laws and regulations across food service, wastewater, water, pools, nuisances, infrastructure, and related areas.
• Conducts risk assessments of environmental issues and recommends appropriate remedies.
• Uses planning models to identify trends, forecast future needs, and assess impact.
