Job summary

Davis County Health Department, Environmental Health Division in Clearfield, Utah, seeks a full-time Environmental Health Scientist to implement protection and enforcement programs across food safety, water quality, air safety, and sanitation disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health Science or related field that meets licensure criteria by Utah DOPL.
• Must become Environmental Health Scientist-in-Training within 3 months; licensed as Registered Environmental Health Scientist within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site sanitation inspections of retail food establishments, commercial facilities, public pools, onsite wastewater systems, drinking water systems, and related entities.
• Conduct and evaluate laboratory tests for bacteria content in culinary water, pools, and non-potable water sources.
• Investigate complaints, recommend solutions and perform follow-up inspections.
• Perform quality assurance and assist in developing rules and regulations.
• Perform data collection using standardized techniques and equipment.
