Job summary

Holland Sharpe is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) professional to support manufacturing operations, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, and promote a safe workplace.

The role partners with plant leadership to develop EHS plans, provide technical guidance, conduct audits, investigate incidents, and drive continuous safety improvements across the site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with at least 4 years EHS experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of industrial manufacturing experience with EHS responsibilities will be considered.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, investigations, training, and corrective-action follow-up.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with plant management to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and manage site EHS plans including budgets and reporting.
  • Provide EHS guidance for operations, new equipment, and contractor activities.
  • Lead investigations of incidents, injuries, and near-misses with root-cause analysis.
  • Plan and conduct EHS training programs for employees.
  • Maintain EHS records and regulatory documentation.

Job description

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Professional

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) professional to support plant operations and help maintain a safe, compliant, and engaged manufacturing environment. This position will partner closely with plant leadership and employees to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations while continuously improving workplace safety.

Major Accountabilities

  • Partner with plant management to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as company EHS policies and requirements.
  • Develop and manage site EHS plans, including budget requirements, implementation, progress monitoring, documentation, and routine reporting to site leadership.
  • Provide technical EHS guidance and support for ongoing operations, new equipment and processes, facility changes, and contractor activities.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce workplace risk and support the organization's goal of zero incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct plant safety inspections and EHS audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and track corrective actions through completion.
  • Lead incident, injury, property damage, and near-miss investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Plan, conduct, and manage EHS training programs for employees and develop site-specific training materials as needed.
  • Promote employee involvement in safety through safety teams, inspections, training, coaching, and ongoing communication.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, regulatory documentation, files, and required postings.
  • Manage workers' compensation administration and return-to-work programs.
  • Ensure EHS policies, practices, and procedures are clearly understood and consistently followed throughout the facility.
  • Partner with employees and leadership at all levels to strengthen safety awareness, engagement, and accountability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field preferred, with at least 4 years of EHS experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of industrial manufacturing experience with EHS responsibilities will be considered.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, workplace hazards, and industrial safety practices.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards, procedures, compliance requirements, and documentation.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification preferred.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, investigations, training, and corrective-action follow-up.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, training, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and leadership at all levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
