This role involves providing leadership and technical expertise to ensure EHS legal compliance and support corporate goals related to EHS performance. The position requires developing and implementing policies, procedures, training, and communication strategies to promote safe operating practices across the workplace.

Location: Kellanova Springs plant, with occasional travel to the Head office in Woodmead.

Team: The EHS team includes a full-time EHS business partner.

Work Environment: Manufacturing setting with potential for overtime, shift work, and working in noisy and dusty conditions. The role demands professionalism and urgency in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities including compliance audits, incident investigations, and safety system improvements.

Additional Opportunities: Participation in global EHS audits, representing the AMEA region in global communities of practice, and potential career growth into leading global audits or regional EHS management roles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop plant-specific EHS strategies and ensure adherence to budgets.
2. Lead compliance efforts, conduct audits, and prepare for external inspections.
3. Investigate incidents, recommend preventative measures, and implement improvements.
4. Manage EHS training, develop management systems, and optimize resources.
5. Support regional and global EHS initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance.
6. Oversee security management and ensure adherence to security policies.
7. Ensure compliance with South African EHS legislation and participate in incident management teams.
8. Manage labor relations, performance appraisals, and employee development.

Qualifications: Tertiary qualification with at least 5 years of management experience in FMCG environment. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and computer skills, including SAP and MS Office, are essential.
