Plant Environmental, Health & Safety Manager

Conagra Brands is seeking a Plant Environmental, Health & Safety Manager responsible for ensuring safety compliance and fostering a safety-first culture within the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of safety, including OSHA and environmental record keeping, safety action item register, safety conference calls, safety audits, and accident investigations.
- Develop, evaluate, and maintain department budget for safety area.
- Ensure the facility complies with OSHA and environmental laws and regulations and ConAgra safety and environmental programs.
- Facilitate safety audits for the facility.
- Lead and direct the Plant Safety Committees.
- Develop a capital spending program with facility managers to ensure OSHA compliance and hazard elimination.
- Serve as or obtain safety expertise for various plant functions in dealings with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
- Review Supervisors’ Reports of Injury to ensure completeness and appropriate action is taken to prevent recurrence.
- Develop computer programs using company accident injury history for comparative analysis.
- Develop and conduct or procure training programs for line management aimed at loss prevention.
- Participate with managers on policy development and achieving loss control objectives.
- Conduct and/or facilitate safety and environmental programs and OSHA required training and certifications.
- Provide ongoing support to department managers for safety meetings and work modifications.
- Develop and implement processes to reduce the injury rate, including behavioral-based programs and proactive safe practices.
- Provide up-to-date regulatory guidance to all departments.
- Serve as primary professional contact on environmental matters and OSHA inspections.
- Provide a floor presence for employees on safety matters.
- Influence ConAgra culture to prioritize safety.
- Conduct environmental audits and reports.
- Conduct monthly safety inspections, reporting results to the Management Safety Committee.
- Participate in the plant’s Emergency Response and HAZMAT Teams.
- Provide safety training and consulting services to other ConAgra facilities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related area.
- Experience: 5-7 years in a related field.
- CSP or ARM certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, DOT, and workers compensation laws.
