You will partner with plant leaders to drive continuous improvement, lead safety committees, manage training, track performance, and maintain permits and reporting.

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive Environmental, Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience managing EHS compliance programs and leading safety improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for all EHS initiatives across the Lincoln facility.
  • Partner with plant leadership to develop and execute strategic EHS objectives.
  • Lead site safety committees and drive continuous safety engagement and improvement.
  • Ensure OSHA, EPA and local regulatory compliance, reporting, and permitting.
  • Develop training programs and manage PPE, equipment and safety systems.
  • Oversee environmental compliance programs including waste management and sustainability initiatives.

Job description

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight for all environmental, health, safety programs at the Lincoln manufacturing facility. This position develops and executes strategies that protect employees, ensure regulatory compliance, minimize operational risk, and promote a culture of safety excellence.

The EHS Manager serves as a strategic business partner to site leadership by driving continuous improvement initiatives, strengthening employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining programs that support injury prevention, environmental stewardship, operational excellence, and long-term business sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
  • Provide leadership and direction for all environmental, health, and safety initiatives across the facility.
  • Partner with plant leadership to develop and execute strategic EHS objectives aligned with business goals.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, leadership accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead site safety committees and support employee involvement in safety initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, local, and corporate environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, inspections, audits, permitting activities, and compliance reporting.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation of new requirements.
  • Maintain all environmental permits, reporting requirements, and compliance documentation.
Risk Management & Incident Prevention
  • Conduct workplace risk assessments and implement effective hazard controls.
  • Lead investigations of injuries, illnesses, near misses, property damage, and environmental incidents.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and ensure completion of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze safety performance data and develop strategies to reduce risk and improve performance.
Training & Employee Development
  • Develop, implement, and deliver EHS training programs to employees, supervisors, and leaders.
  • Ensure employees understand regulatory requirements, company policies, and safe work practices.
  • Coach and mentor leaders on EHS responsibilities and accountability.
  • Ensure appropriate selection, availability, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Environmental Management
  • Oversee environmental compliance programs including waste management, hazardous materials, recycling, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce environmental impact and improve resource efficiency.
  • Support site efforts related to environmental stewardship and sustainability goals.
Program Administration
  • Develop and manage EHS budgets and resources.
  • Maintain EHS records, metrics, reports, and performance dashboards.
  • Provide monthly EHS performance updates to site leadership and corporate EHS leadership.
  • Lead and develop EHS personnel and other assigned resources.
Required Qualifications
Experience

Minimum five (5) years of progressive Environmental, Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.

  • Proven experience managing EHS compliance programs and leading safety improvement initiatives.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action management.
  • Demonstrated success influencing organizational change and driving a positive safety culture.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable environmental and occupational safety regulations.
  • Experience with risk assessment methodologies, hazard identification, and injury prevention strategies.
  • Working knowledge of ergonomics, machine guarding, hazardous energy control (Lockout/Tagout), contractor safety, and industrial safety practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS management systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
Education & Certifications
Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, or a closely related field.
