Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent.
  • Professional certification (recommended) such as CSP/CIH or country equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and directs site in achieving EHS targets & objectives; aligns with corporate EHS strategy.
  • Facilitates risk assessment to identify critical EHS hazards and establish targets.
  • Designs, develops, and implements safety and health programs and ensures regulatory compliance (OSHA, local laws).
  • Maintains EHS documents and records; ensures timely submissions to agencies.
  • Performs EHS audits; develops mitigation plans and investigates incidents with root-cause analysis.
  • Analyzes and implements federal, local, state, and corporate Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Maintains EHS policies, written programs (IIPP, Return to Work) and training programs.
  • Manages waste management and lead the plant Safety Program.
  • Contributes to SQDCT for plant operations; supports cross-functional teams.
  • Supports property protection, fire protection standards, disaster and business continuity planning.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities for EHS Manager:
  • Manages and directs site in achieving EHS targets & objectives. Directs development, maintenance, and achievement of goals in support of corporate and division EHS strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitates risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects. Works with leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.
  • Designs, develops, and implements safety and health programs and ensures compliance with all regulations including federal, state, local and OSHA
  • Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) documents and records are identifiable, controlled and maintained in an organized, quickly retrievable manner, timely submission to State and Federal agencies as required
  • Proactively Perform EHS audits and implement audit recommendations. Assess potential environmental risks and provide mitigation plans to reduce incidents. Ensure timely investigation of environmental, health and safety incidents, root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Analyze, review, and implement federal, local, state, and corporate Health and Safety guidelines
  • Administers and maintains documents for all EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) policies, written programs (IIPP, Return to Work Program) and training programs
  • Manage waste management
  • Manage Lead the plant Safety Program
  • Contribute to all functions of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Talent (SQDCT) for plant operations
  • Assist with property protection controls, including fire protection standards & controls, disaster and business continuity plans and training along with coordinating external fire & HPR (highly protected risks) inspections.
  • College or Four (4) year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent. Advanced degree desired
  • 4+ years of experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program management and employee training.
  • ISO 14001 experience
  • ISO 45000 and Audit is a plus
  • Adept at utilization of company-wide system for reporting EHS data and information
  • Ability to demonstrate managerial courage (e.g., managing varied interests representing potential conflicts)
  • Ability to lead and support cross-functional EHS teams
  • Professional certification (recommended) (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent where available).
