Newell Brands is seeking a Safety Specialist for the Gastonia Service Center to drive safety improvements and worker protection. You will partner with plant leadership to eliminate injuries, implement OSHA-compliant programs, and lead training for staff, contractors, and supervisors.

The role emphasizes hands-on safety analysis, incident investigations, and risk reduction across operations, with a focus on building a culture of safety and continuous improvement at the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EH&S, Safety Engineering, Human Resources, or other relevant technical field required.
• Three to five years of related safety and/or occupational health experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of results in a fast changing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal safety regulations and job safety analysis required.

Responsabilités

• Develops and implements safety procedures compliant with OSHA and other regulations.
• Leads the behavior-based safety process for the facility.
• Develops safety awareness programs to increase core safety understanding.
• Investigates accidents and injuries, documents findings, and ensures corrective actions are completed.
• Coordinates supervisor, new hire, and contractor training to improve safe practices.
• Serves as a technical resource to support associates on safety-related issues.
• Analyzes plant safety data to drive resource allocation and ergonomic initiatives.
• Maintains OSHA logs, safety plans, training records, and reporting requirements.
