Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours in physical and/or biological sciences.
• Registered with the Illinois Department of Finance and Professional Regulation as an Environmental Health Practitioner In Training in accordance with the Illinois Licensing Act (upon hire).
• Requires a valid driver's license with appropriate classification and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans and inspects facilities in environmental health programs.
• Prepares activity reports and inspection records.
• Collects environmental samples and conducts basic field tests.
• Educates the public on environmental health issues and rationale.
