Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Environmental Science or related field with required science coursework approved by the Ohio Department of Health.
• Active Environmental Health Specialist License from the Ohio Department of Health and willingness to maintain.
• Be willing and able to maintain EPA Commercial Applicator License (pest control).
• Must be computer proficient and able to work efficiently in a heavily computerized PC environment using various Microsoft Office and database applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervises subordinate staff and coordinates the Environmental Health Division activities to ensure quality standards and deadlines.
• Inspects, investigates and enforces compliance across program areas including food protection, nuisances and other environmental health concerns.
• Participates in public health emergencies and PHAB accreditation efforts; supports grant management and readiness exercises.
• Maintains documentation and prepares written recommendations; collaborates with other divisions and partners.
