Allegan County is seeking a Manager for the environmental health field program. You will oversee issuance of permits for wells, septic systems, soil erosion, and food facilities, ensuring compliance with EGLE, MDHHS, and county rules to protect public health.

The role involves inspecting sites county-wide, supervising staff, and coordinating with state agencies. A Bachelor's in EH/PH/biology/chemistry and state credentials are required; a strong QA and training focus is essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Health, Public Health, Biology or Chemistry.
• Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Registered Sanitarian.
• Knowledge of Part 91 Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Program.
• Knowledge of Michigan Pool & Campground rules.
• Knowledge of public health accreditation processes.
• Knowledge of Michigan Subsurface Soil Criteria.
• Understanding admin rules for on-site water supply and septic disposal.

Responsabilidades

• Conducts quality assurance analysis on all outgoing permits and inspection reports for water and sewage programs.
• Serves as content expert for advanced residential sites, commercial sites and food establishments.
• Trains all new staff in water, sewage, SESC, food and body art programs.
• Conducts performance evaluations and coaches staff based on performance data.
• Approves timesheets, PTO, conferences, reimbursements and purchase orders for staff.
• Completes reporting to EGLE and county board on a bi-weekly/quarterly cadence.
• Assesses work allocations within the field program based on workload and permit issuance timelines.
• Monitors budgets for Sewage, water, pool, and campground programs.
