Job summary

County Public Health in Baldwin County, GA seeks an Environmental Health County Manager to lead the environmental health program for Baldwin and Hancock Counties. You will manage budgets, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with state rules while coordinating with partners and the Board of Health.

The role emphasizes leadership, strong communication, and the ability to oversee multiple programs, including Food Service, pools, waste management, and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years experience as a PH Environmental Compliance Specialist 4 or equivalent.
• Consideration for lead role with county oversight even with less than 2 years in grade.
• Preferred master's degree and professional certification in environmental health.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive environmental health program operations for Baldwin and Hancock Counties.
• Develop and manage the annual EH budget for Baldwin County.
• Provide supervisory oversight for EH staff and recruit/train personnel.
• Oversee inspection, permitting, and compliance for Food Service, Public Pools, Body Art, and Land Use.
• Engage with partner agencies and Board of Health; provide education and technical assistance.
• Interpret environmental health laws and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Participate in Board of Health meetings and report on county matters.
