Job summary

TeraFlex Inc in Ogden, UT, is seeking a hands-on Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security Manager to lead programs across three locations: TeraFlex in West Jordan, ReadyLift in Ogden, and Logic in California. This role will partner with operations and leadership to build a strong safety culture, reduce risk, and ensure safe workplaces.

The role requires 5+ years in HSE roles, OSHA knowledge, incident investigations, and experience with workers' compensation and training.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in health, safety, environmental, security, or EHS roles within manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or industrial environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety program requirements.
  • Experience overseeing equipment safety requirements, including SOPs, inspections, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and training.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, audits, inspections, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Experience managing workers' compensation claims, including injury reporting, documentation, carrier communication, return-to-work coordination, and claim follow-up.
  • Experience developing and delivering safety training to hourly employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Knowledge of environmental practices related to chemical handling, waste management, spill response, SDS management, and regulatory recordkeeping.
  • Ability to work effectively on the production floor and build credibility with employees and leadership.
  • Ability to support multiple locations and travel between Utah and California as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Oversee equipment safety programs, guarding, lockout/tagout, inspections, and training.
  • Conduct regular safety walks, facility inspections, audits, and risk assessments across sites.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and workers' comp processes.
  • Develop and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, new hire orientation, and refresher sessions.
  • Maintain safety records, OSHA logs, inspection documents, training records, SDS information, and compliance files.
  • Support environmental compliance activities, including waste handling, spill prevention, chemical management, and reporting.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness programs, including evacuation plans and drills.
  • Oversee physical security practices, including access control and visitor procedures.
  • Promote proactive safety culture through coaching and accountability.

This Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security Manager role will oversee programs and practices across three locations: Logic in California, TeraFlex in West Jordan, Utah, and ReadyLift in Ogden, Utah. The role is responsible for creating consistent safety, environmental, and security standards while partnering with local leaders to support the unique needs of each location.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security Manager to lead safety, environmental compliance, and physical security programs across three locations: TeraFlex in West Jordan, Utah, ReadyLift in Ogden, Utah, and Logic in California. This role will partner closely with operations, leadership, and employees to build a strong safety culture, reduce risk, support compliance, and ensure safe and secure workplaces across all assigned sites.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and maintain health, safety, environmental, and security programs across three locations: two in Utah and one in California.
  • Partner with operations leaders to identify safety risks, implement corrective actions, and improve employee safety awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee equipment safety programs and ensure employees follow all required safety rules, procedures, guarding requirements, lockout/tagout practices, inspections, and training related to equipment use.
  • Conduct regular safety walks, facility inspections, audits, and risk assessments across production, warehouse, and office areas.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and workers' compensation claim management, including reporting, documentation, follow-up, return-to-work coordination, and partnership with HR and insurance carriers.
  • Develop and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, new hire safety orientation, and refresher training for employees and supervisors.
  • Maintain required safety records, OSHA logs, inspection documents, training records, SDS information, and compliance files.
  • Support environmental compliance activities, including waste handling, spill prevention, chemical management, recycling, and required reporting.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness programs, including evacuation plans, drills, first aid response, fire prevention, and severe weather procedures.
  • Oversee physical security practices, including access control, visitor procedures, security awareness, and coordination with vendors as needed.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by coaching employees and leaders on safe work practices and accountability.

Work Environment
  • On-site manufacturing, warehouse, and office environment with regular time spent on the production floor.
  • Must be comfortable walking the facility, observing operations, reviewing equipment/work areas, and interacting with employees across shifts.
  • May occasionally respond to safety incidents, facility concerns, audits, or urgent operational needs outside standard business hours.
  • Occasional lifting, bending, standing, walking, and use of personal protective equipment may be required.
  • Travel between assigned locations is required, including two locations in Utah and one location in California.
