We, at Elite Comfort Solutions LLC, are searching for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager within our health and safety team to help support our bedding team. As an Environmental Health and Safety Manager you will have the opportunity to foster a robust safety focused culture throughout the company. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring risk controls are in place to reduce or eliminate the frequency and severity of future claims to reduce the company’s risk. So, what will you be doing as an Environmental Health and Safety Manager?

1. Design and implement programs to enhance EHS protocols at assigned Elite Comfort Solutions locations, including behavioral safety and regulatory compliance programs, to help the company lower its total cost of risk and continuously improve performance.
2. Advise local plant leadership on improving EHS practices, workplace safety, and the safety culture.
3. Coordinate with leadership, locally and across the business, on EHS related capital budget items, including helping to create a business case for their acquisition.
4. Develop ergonomic protocols for Elite Comfort Solutions locations.
5. Develop and oversee EHS training for employees.
6. Develop meeting agenda and conduct regular EHS meetings with local managers, supervisors, and employees.
7. Oversee the incident/accident investigation process, including identifying the root cause, and ensure that local managers, supervisors, and employees are adequately trained to conduct investigations and develop and implement appropriate corrective actions.
8. Record applicable information in our designated electronic systems.
9. Ensure Safety Alerts are prepared and promptly shared with all Elite Comfort Solutions locations in the Domestic Bedding Group.
10. Establish a local safety self-audit program, train appropriate personnel to audit, and perform periodic reviews to ensure compliance.
11. Keep track of safety worker orders for the Branch and track completion and communicate aging items to the appropriate leadership.
12. Regularly review workers' compensation and other local claims to determine accident trends and root causes and develop accident prevention initiatives based on these analyses.
13. Interpret and answer basic EHS, EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory compliance questions.
14. Be the internal "go-to" person for all questions related to EHS and maintain the knowledge required to be a subject matter expert in EHS management; this includes keeping abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting Elite Comfort Solutions operations.
15. Collaborate with the management, supervisors, and other operations personnel to identify, quantify, and analyze claims data and causal information so that future claims can be reduced, in terms of both frequency and severity, primarily through appropriate operational procedures, safeguards, and behavior, and through loss prevention initiatives.
16. Regularly participate in "open items" meetings with internal and external colleagues associated with the risk management and insurance program to ensure that performance deadlines are being achieved and that initiatives are moving forward as desired.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience. This experience can be a combination of education and hands-on experience.

Things we consider a plus:

• Manufacturing, distribution, or consumer product EHS experience.
• Facilitating and mitigating regulatory inspections.
• Environmental hazardous waste, risk management plans, SPCC, air permits, and stormwater permits experience.
• Expertise with ergonomics assessments, fire protection, industrial hygiene.
• CSP or similar professional designation.
