Qualifications

Job description

This position is responsible for managing all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs, activities, and control measures at the manufacturing facility. The EHS Manager fosters a culture of continuous safety, health, and environmental excellence, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The role includes coordinating safety training and activities related to regulated programs such as OSHA and the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).


Additional Information

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with flexible hours to meet the demands of the Continuous Operating Structure (COS).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Legally authorized to work without sponsorship
  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of EHS-related work experience
  • At least 3 years of EHS work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal training or 1+ year experience in continuous improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean)
  • Leadership experience supervising teams
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM)
  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, or Business
  • Experience with OSHA VPP audits and maintaining VPP status

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver safety and health training programs
  • Coordinate site EHS training activities
  • Support employee safety committees
  • Manage the EHS Management System
  • Conduct inspections, investigations, and analyses to prevent accidents and environmental releases
  • Incorporate risk and loss control into daily operations
  • Maintain compliance reporting and recordkeeping (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Provide reports and audits to management
  • Develop plans to achieve or maintain OSHA VPP STAR status
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and procedures
  • Act as liaison with enforcement agencies and corporate support
  • Promote a positive safety culture through proactive engagement and presence on the floor
