The Environmental, Health, and Safety Coordinator develops, implements, and oversees facility environmental, safety, and health programs, policies, and procedures. The coordinator also provides technical, administrative, and operational assistance to management regarding environmental and occupational safety and health issues.
Supervision received: This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.
Supervision exercised: This position does not have any direct reports.
Requirements:
Location: Ashland, PA
Essential Functions:
- Safety and Health Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations; conduct audits and coaching; promote a zero-harm culture; enforce policies.
- Program Development and Oversight: Develop, implement, and review safety and environmental programs; lead initiatives and compliance reporting.
- Safety Training and Support: Provide safety training; participate in safety meetings.
- Regulatory and Compliance Reporting: Prepare reports like TRI, Form R, Tier II, Act 101, and others.
- Environmental Testing and Permits: Oversee air testing, stormwater testing, permits, and hazardous waste management.
- Accident Management: Conduct investigations, analyze trends, and develop corrective actions.
- Communication: Liaise with regulatory agencies and communicate safety/environmental info to leadership.
- Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, NFPA standards; familiarity with environmental laws.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical proficiency with MS Office and EHS software; ability to operate testing equipment.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- 3-5 years of EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing or foundry.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to draft reports, speak effectively, and manage schedules.
- Physical and environmental conditions include exposure to noise, temperature variations, and hazardous materials.
Work Environment:
Moderate to loud noise, variable temperatures, use of PPE required, exposure to moving parts.
Compensation:
$65,000 - $75,000 annually
