Job summary

AlphaTech Research Corporation is seeking an Environmental Hazards and Safety Engineer to lead EHS programs, processes, and procedures. The role involves training engineers and staff in EHS principles and procedures, and supporting safety on the production floor.

The ideal candidate has expertise in analytical methods and extensive experience with environmental health and safety operations, particularly around hazardous materials such as beryllium salts.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, industrial hygiene, occupational safety or related discipline.
• Experience with analytical methods such as ICP-MS, SEM-EDX.
• Ability to use and wear full PPE including respirator and full-body cover suit.
• Experience in environmental health and safety operations or management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain process quality and identify improvements.
• Ensure worker safety in and around beryllium work areas.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EH&S Engineer to lead and support the development of EHS programs, processes, and procedures, and to provide EHS training to engineers and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the commissioning and operation of a process and facility involving beryllium salts.
• Maintain the quality of the process and identify improvements.
• Work closely with EHS principles to ensure worker safety in and around beryllium work areas.
• Train technicians on analytical methods.
• Assist on the production floor as needed.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on EHS principles and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• A degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, industrial hygiene, occupational safety or related discipline
• Expertise in analytical methods such as ICP-MS, SEM-EDX
• Ability to use and wear full body PPE, including a respirator (PAPR) and full-body cover suit
• Experience in working with environmental health and safety operations or management
