Hepaco, a Clean Harbors company in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking an Environmental General Laborer to join our safety-conscious team. This position involves supervising Field Technicians and participating in tasks related to emergency response (spill cleanup), hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation (tank and pit cleaning), equipment decontamination, and handling hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Prioritize health and safety by following policies and acting safely
• Perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting and pulling heavy objects
• Operate light and heavy equipment, hand tools, and powered industrial tools
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly, including respirators and skin protection
• Work in various weather conditions and temperatures, indoors and outdoors
• Handle potentially hazardous chemicals and physical agents
• Work in confined spaces, at heights, and in elevated noise environments
• Assist with field sampling, meter calibration, and other technical tasks
• Inspect drums for integrity and compliance
• Load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely
• Follow all relevant regulations and company guidelines
• Operate vehicles in accordance with DOT and other regulations
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis
• Participate in site remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous material handling

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience in physically demanding roles
• Leadership or supervisory experience
• Ability to travel overnight
• On-call for emergency response
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to perform physical tasks
• Successful background check, drug test, and physical exam
• Compliance with OSHA respirator standards

Preferred:

• Experience with heavy equipment (e.g., bobcats, excavators)
• Environmental/industrial experience (site remediation, spill response, etc.)
• Commercial driver license
