Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest, Calscience in Tustin, CA, is seeking a VOA GC Chemist I to prepare and analyze environmental samples following EPA protocols and Eurofins QA/SOPs. Duties include GC analysis, data review in LIMS, and routine instrument maintenance.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year GC experience, a BS/BA in chemistry or related field, strong time management, and excellent communication skills; US work authorization is required. Shift options with OT are provided.

Qualifications

• 1+ years operating a GC in an academic or production lab.
• BS or BA in chemistry or related field; 3 years lab experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience in production oriented work and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective time management and multitasking skills.
• Ability to perform and evaluate basic calculations.
• Ability to work independently following written and verbal instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English (reading/writing/speaking).

Responsibilities

• Prepare water and soil samples for GC analysis.
• Evaluate chromatography for qualitative and quantitative criteria.
• Manage backlog workload to meet client program requirements.
• Upload and peer review data using LIMS.
• Perform basic instrument maintenance and calibration.
• Prepare standards and reagents for sample analysis.
• Maintain instrument calibrations per QA/QC requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab environment.
• Adhere to EH&S programs in daily duties.
• Perform other lab duties as assigned.
