Job summary

Patriot Environmental Services in the Western United States is seeking a dedicated Environmental Technician to join our hazardous waste cleanup and remediation teams. You will perform field duties, follow safety procedures, and support emergency response operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends. We offer comprehensive benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some environmental services industry experience preferred.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Confined Space Entry certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner.
• Perform emergency response cleanup activities including chemical and water spills, non-hazardous and hazardous waste and toxic materials and equipment decontamination.
• Sweep, dig, shovel, lift, pressure wash and handling drums to assist in cleanup.
• Operate cleanup equipment used in hazardous waste activities.
• Follow policies and procedures for control and storage of hazardous substances.
• Attend safety training as required.
• Comply with the Random Drug Testing Program.
• Perform various housekeeping and custodial duties and other duties as required.
• Assist with maintenance of facility like unloading trucks and other ancillary duties.
• Answer 24/7 Emergency Response calls when on uncontrolled standby.
• Work long hours and overtime during day, night or weekend shifts.
