Job summary

Patriot Environmental Services in the Western United States seeks a hands-on environmental services technician to perform emergency response cleanup and hazardous waste handling. The role emphasizes health and safety, with duties spanning spill cleanup, drum handling, and operating related equipment in various shifts.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 40-hour HAZWOPER, and a valid driver’s license. Some experience in environmental services and confined space entry are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some environmental services industry experience preferred.
• Some hazardous waste control experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Driving record that meets company standards and current DMV printout, required.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.
• Confined Space Entry certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety in all tasks and follow safe work practices.
• Perform emergency response cleanup for chemical and water spills.
• Sweep, dig, shovel, lift, and handle drums to support cleanup.
• Operate cleanup equipment used in hazardous waste activities.
• Follow procedures for control and storage of hazardous substances.
• Attend safety training as required.
• Comply with the Random Drug Testing Program.
• Perform housekeeping and custodial duties as required.
• Assist with facility maintenance and unloading trucks.
• Answer 24/7 Emergency Response calls when on standby.
• Work long hours including day, night, or weekend shifts.
