Gilder Search Group is seeking an Environmental Field Technician for an entry-level, hands-on role. You will gain field experience by collecting data from municipal water and wastewater systems, supporting improvements in these critical infrastructure areas.

Ideal graduates include environmental science, geology, geography, or civil engineering, with strong computer literacy and GIS familiarity. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and steady work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Strong computer literacy and GIS experience preferred.
• Attention to detail for field data collection and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install flow monitoring systems in sewer lines.
• Install rainfall monitoring equipment.
• Input data into software systems including GIS.
• Inspect sewer manholes manually or with telemonitoring equipment.
• Operate and maintain instruments and equipment.
• Document inspections with detailed field notes promptly.
• Follow all safety requirements and assist teammates.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Responsibility Summary - Environmental Field Technician:

• Installation of flow monitoring systems within sewer lines.
• Installation of rainfall monitoring equipment.
• Input data into software systems which may include geographic information system software (GIS).
• Inspect sewer manholes manually or with telemonitoring equipment.
• Operate and maintain instruments and equipment.
• Accurately document inspections in a timely manner with detailed field notes.
• Adhere to all the safety requirements of the position while assisting team members to do the same.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualification Summary - Environmental Field Technician:

• High school diploma
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with the ability to operate a company vehicle
• Ability to detect, resolve and report equipment issues (strong electrical and mechanical aptitude preferred)
• Strong computer literacy with the ability to effectively utilize commonly used computer software programs (experience with GIS strongly preferred)
• Ability to perform all of the physical requirements of position
• Preferred experience/knowledge with field data collection
