Job summary

Pace Labs in Altoona, PA is seeking a Field Technician I to join our environmental science team. This full-time role offers Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM and a starting wage of $16.00 per hour.

Travel to customer sites is required as you collect, test, and document environmental samples across air, soil, and water. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent; one year in a lab or environmental setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in a laboratory or environmental setting preferred.
• Ability to travel with some overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer and environmental testing sites.
• Collect, process and test environmental samples, including air, soil, water, and related media.
• Perform field services using standard environmental support practices, including sample collection, test kit completion, and documentation of results.
• Pick up, transport, and deliver samples, documents, materials, and results as required.
• Prepare vehicles for daily field operations, including instruments, supplies, kits, materials, documentation, and safety equipment.
• Complete and maintain logs, forms, databases, and other documentation accurately and timely.
• Assist with research and recommendations to resolve operational, customer, or employee issues.
• Support the review and implementation of field/environmental programs to meet operational and organizational needs.
• Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; escalate issues when needed.
• Contribute to team effectiveness by offering suggestions for improvements.
• Promote Pace Analytical’s mission through professional, courteous, and cooperative interactions with customers and coworkers.
