Job summary

Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals seeks a beginner to intermediate Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer with environmental field work experience. You will support report preparation, conduct site investigations, and perform sampling and data analysis as part of a team.

Responsibilities include soil/g groundwater sampling, reviewing documents, and preparing technical reports while adhering to health and safety protocols. Travel up to local sites is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to travel 40–50% (primarily local).
• Strong MS Office Word and Excel skills.
• Willing to work outside in varying climates and terrains.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• IEPA LUST & SRP investigation and reporting activities.
• ASTM Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Soil excavation oversight and sampling.
• Conduct soil, groundwater, and soil-gas sampling.
• Oversee soil boring and monitor well installation.
• Document review and reporting including lab data analysis.
• Prepare groundwater elevation contours and geologic cross sections.
• Communicate effectively with team members, managers, subcontractors, and on-site personnel.
