Job summary

LaBella is seeking an Environmental Scientist / Geologist / Engineer to join our Potsdam, NY office. The role combines fieldwork and office tasks, including regulated building material inspections, groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and surface water sampling, lab sample submission, data evaluation, and report preparation.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering with 0–3 years of experience, and are open to travel.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering required.
• 0–3 years in environmental consulting, science, geology, or related field.
• 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field investigations and site inspections.
• Perform field monitoring of various media.
• Provide project monitoring and air sampling.
• Perform soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling.
• Assist with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
• Prepare deliverables on time and within budget.
