Job summary

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Intern to join our Environmental team in St. Louis, MO. This paid internship provides hands-on experience in environmental assessment, investigation, remediation, compliance, and engineering projects alongside experienced professionals.

Interns will contribute to fieldwork, regulatory research, and project documentation, with potential focus on site assessment or remediation systems based on academic background and interests.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Willing to learn, take feedback, and adapt to project needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental field investigations and sampling programs (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, indoor air, soil vapor).
• Support Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and related due diligence activities.
• Assist with soil borings and groundwater monitoring well installation and documentation.
• Collect water-level measurements and assist with elevation surveying and aquifer testing.
• Support remediation projects including operation, monitoring, and maintenance of systems.
• Prepare tables, figures, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Review historical records and regulatory requirements to support project work.
• Assist with preparation of technical reports, work plans, and permit applications.
