Job summary

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. seeks an Environmental Intern to support our Environmental team on site.

You will assist with field investigations, regulatory research, data analysis, and technical reporting while learning from senior scientists and engineers. This paid internship targets students in Environmental Science, Geology, or Engineering who want hands-on experience in site assessments, remediation, and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Foundational knowledge of environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, chemistry, or environmental engineering principles.
• Strong computer and technical documentation skills.
• A 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
• Prior environmental consulting, fieldwork, laboratory, research, or internship experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental field investigations and sampling programs (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, indoor air, soil vapor).
• Support Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and related due diligence activities.
• Assist with soil borings and groundwater monitoring wells.
• Collect water-level measurements and assist with surveying, aquifer testing, logs, and diagrams.
• Support remediation projects and monitoring of remediation systems.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support environmental systems.
• Review, tabulate, analyze, and interpret environmental data.
• Prepare tables, figures, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Contribute to regulatory research and environmental permitting activities.
• Prepare or assist with drawings for designs or technical concepts.
• Learn and follow SOPs, quality requirements, and safety practices.
• Assist with proposal development and estimating effort.
• Perform work safely and in accordance with company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
