Job summary

The Vertex Companies, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support supervision in completing Phase I ESAs, PCAs, and energy usage assessments. You will coordinate with field staff, ensure timely deliverables, and help manage budgets while upholding our core values of learning, urgency, and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Phase I ESAs and PCAs following ASTM guidelines.
• Experience with assessment, remediation and compliance with California regulatory programs (e.g. EPA, Cal/EPA).
• OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 certification.
• HAZWOPER 40 Hour.
• AHERA (Asbestos) certifications, preferred, not required.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
• Strong technical report writing skills in English.
• Ability/willingness for frequent travel for field work (valid driver’s license required).
• Working proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and manage Phase I ESAs and PCAs including field inspections and report writing.
• Perform subsurface investigations and remediation work as appropriate.
• Ensure project deliverables, milestones, and budgets are met.
• Coordinate with senior managers to meet milestones and budgets.
• Prepare, review, and submit final reports per regulations and QC standards.
• Majority of work located in California with regular travel across the country.
• Support Supervisor in monitoring utilization and deadlines.
• Assist in maintaining data integrity and client communications.
